SpeedoHealer INSTALLATION
2001-2007 Honda GL1800/A Goldwing (non-ABS + ABS)
Note: Use this guide in conjunction with the instructions received with your SH-H01 harness kit.
Removal of the right side fairing pocket, heated hand grip control panel (where the lock for the right side fairing pocket is) and loosening of the top shelter is recommended to get to the connectors easily.
1. The wiring bundle you want, under the right side of the top shelter under lock panel for the right fairing pocket.

2. The connector pictured in the middle is the one you want.

3. Unplug the connector...
Note! You may find two 3p connectors which look the same. Make sure to use the
one with 3 wires.

4. Connect the wiring harness from SpeedoHealer...

5. Slide the wiring loom back over the connectors and run the red wire up to where the SpeedoHealer will be located.

6. I purchased the SHv3.0-EXT model (that comes with a remote button for the Top Speed Memory function). I replaced the corded button provided with the kit with a Momentary "normally open" switch from Radio Shack. Mounted it to the Heated Grip Control Panel above the lock for the right side fairing pocket. Btw, it's a neat little feature, but no one I know is telling any of the Local Law Enforcement Officers about it! -bg-

7. Execute the SH input and output tests:
- Set SH switch #1 (and only) On, and turn the ignition On --> the speedometer should indicate a constant speed.
- Now, rotate the rear wheel --> the LED
should be blinking as the wheel turns.
If the tests fail, most probably you did not connect the SH harness at the right
place. Refer to the instructions supplied.
8.
Use the on-line calculator to set-up the box.
I programmed my SpeedoHealer for a -5.6% speedometer correction. Verified by my
GPS, the Honda speedometer is now "spot" on!
As I expected the odometer is now a little "pessimistic" by a tad over 1%, much
better that 4-5% optimistic reading is was giving before (and adding devaluating
miles to my bike it had not traveled!)
Thanks for a product that fixed a 'bug" that really bothered me while riding my Wing!

UPDATE from Robert R. with 2005 GL1800a
I could not identify a connector like the one shown above.
Then I removed the right front exhaust pipe protector on my motorcycle and located the speed sensor.
I then traced the wiring from the speed sensor and located a wiring bundle hidden behind a fresh air vent duct and other wires and hoses.
The top wiring bundle in the photo below is the one I looked in first, and the bottom wiring bundle is the one that contains the speed sensor connector - it has 3 wires (in the middle of the red circle). I had to loosen the air duct to access it.
