SpeedoHealer INSTALLATION

2002-2008 Suzuki AN650 Burgman

Note: Use this information in conjunction with the instructions received with your SH-S01 harness kit.

The speed sensor is located behind the final gear case cover (on the left) and the speed sensor coupler is behind the left frame cover. Some plastics have to be removed to get to the connector. Disconnect the connector and continue the installation as per the instructions received with your kit.

The speedometer error on the Burgman (AN400/AN650) is about 8% in stock condition.

Update from Byron W., for 2008 AN650:

Raise the seat.

Speedo plug located under the dull flat black light gauge plastic trim behind and to the left of the battery.

Remove the one obvious phillips head side screw that is visible to enable the plastic to be propped open to give better access.

Hardest part was getting the plug pried apart with small flathead screwdriver (1 minute).

Using the programming number -07.4 is very close to GPS speed (speedo indicates 1 km/h high @ 120 km/h)

VERY simple.....

Report from Alan W., for 2008 AN650:

Just installed SH-V4 + SH-S01 on my 2008 Suzuki Burgman 650 Executive. I am happy to report that using a calibration setting of -8.5% produces a completely linear accuracy reading from 1 mph to 70 mph in my testing using a Garmin Zumo 660 GPS as a reference speed indicator. I was expecting to have some inaccuracy either at low end speed or upper end speed but have found the speedohealer dead accurate throughout the range. Thanks for making a great product.

WARNING

Few AN650 Burgman owners have reported that after calibrating the speedometer, the shift point of the Auto Transmission has been raised to a higher RPM than it was before.

It appears not all bikes are affected.

If you experience this problem, please contact us and we will send instructions how to solve it.

It involves to add an extra wire and route the uncalibrated signal from the SH input wire to the CVT unit connector. It is about a one hour job.

After this modification, the Transmission will work exactly the same way as before, regardless of the calibration value programmed.
